The STOCKMAN HOMESTEAD Motel is brand new and has been designed to look like an Old Australian Stockman’s Homestead with its high corrugated iron roofs, brick walls and extensive verandahs.
It is located on the New England Highway (Sydney Road) just 3 kilometres south of the new Tamworth Australian Equine and Livestock Centre. It is on 80 acres in a country setting amongst the big gumtrees with a view from the front verandah of usually 100 head of cattle grazing on the river flats just a few hundred metres away. There is ample parking which can cater for horse trailers and trucks. There is presently under construction holding paddocks for horses with shelters for overnight or weekly accommodation.
The landscape includes an Australian “Southern Cross” brand windmill, a water feature, a flagpole displaying the Australian flag and extensive new post and rail fencing.
